About The Contributors
The newly commissioned Flash Fiction pieces in ‘Group of Seven Reimagined’ give new meaning and significance to the extraordinary paintings of the Group of Seven through the exceptional range and depth of highly imaginative and prolific writers.
Twenty-one acclaimed and emerging flash fiction writers from across the globe have been invited to celebrate the one-hundred year anniversary of the founding of the Group of Seven, by crafting an original Flash Fiction story inspired by a Group of Seven painting of their choosing.
Contributors were selected based on 1. Their impressive body of literary work, chiefly their flash fiction and short story publications and awards, 2. Their passion and commitment to celebrating and honouring the Group of Seven, and 3. Their distinct Canadian connection.
The writers’ credentials range from university and college professors, to editors of literary magazines, flash fiction competition adjudicators, to published authors of novels, short story collections, flash fiction chapbooks, collaboration in anthologies, online, and print publications, recipients of literary prizes, trusts, and award-winning appointments, in addition to producing an extensive body of work in other literary fiction genres, non-fiction, research and academia; to emerging talent with more modest publication credits. All of whom are serious about their craft, and writing Flash Fiction at a level of excellence.
We invite you to join the Group of Seven Flash Fiction community on Facebook, for an opportunity to interact with this group of Contributors, and a unique window into their process, inspirations, and the fundamentals of the Flash Fiction craft.
